What plane is flying over me right now?
Open PocketSkies and it shows you the live aircraft directly overhead — type, altitude, speed and heading — using your phone's location and real air-traffic data. Every plane you spot can be caught as a collectible card for your album, so finding out what's flying over you is also how you play.
Do I need any hardware or an ADS-B receiver?
No. PocketSkies runs entirely in your phone's browser — your location is all it needs. Plugging in a home ADS-B receiver is a planned bonus for dedicated collectors down the road, never a requirement to play.

How does PocketSkies know what's flying overhead?
Aircraft continuously broadcast their position over ADS-B, and community-run networks like adsb.lol gather those signals from thousands of volunteer receiver stations around the world. PocketSkies reads that live community data for the patch of sky above your location. Live data courtesy of the adsb.lol community.
What kinds of planes can I collect?
Every aircraft type is its own card, across six rarity tiers: everyday airliners are common, regional jets and turboprops uncommon, helicopters and business jets rare, small open-air and vintage light aircraft exotic, military transports and tankers epic, and fighter jets legendary — the rarest catch of all.
Does PocketSkies work anywhere?
Anywhere with cell coverage and air traffic overhead. Big hub cities hand you airliners all day, while small airfields, coastlines and airshows surface the rare stuff — traveling somewhere new is the fastest way to fill your album.
